Dear Harris Park Families,

Welcome to Harris Park, where we are dedicated to providing an exceptional education and cultivating a lifelong passion for learning in every student. Our collective vision is to develop happy lifelong learners who are positive and passionate in every way.

As a specialized Computer Science focus school, we inspire children's imaginations through leadership in computer science, engineering, and coding. Students engage in interactive, project-based learning that encourages solution-oriented thinking and enhances problem-solving skills. We are thrilled about our new maker space, designed to foster creativity and entrepreneurship through collaborative activities. Within this space, students have access to exciting resources such as a massive Lego Wall, 3D printers, robots, and circuits.

At Harris Park, we honor students by offering numerous leadership opportunities. Each student maintains a portfolio to track their academic, leadership, and personal goals. Teachers work closely with students to monitor progress and reflect on their achievements. Students also lead conferences with their families to share their growth and learning experiences. Moreover, students actively participate in school decisions and governance, empowering them to make meaningful contributions to their community.

We highly value our partnership with Harris Park Families. You are your child’s first and most influential teacher, and your support is crucial to maximizing your child’s success in school. Instead of traditional homework, we personalize goal work for at-home practice tailored to each student’s needs. Engaging in nightly goal work will help students achieve their learning targets and advance to the next level. We appreciate the many ways you support your child in completing their goal work, including encouraging nightly reading and practicing math facts at their appropriate level. Teachers will provide weekly communication to ensure we partner effectively with you in your child’s education journey.

Families can expect a weekly Sunday phone call and text message at 6:00 p.m., along with an email containing the latest Harris Park update.
