Westy Wish Week Nears $10,000 Goal

Westminster High School’s Student Council is close to reaching its $10,000 goal for Colorado Make-a-Wish recipient Levy. "It was a very stressful week," noted Sophomore Galaxy B, "but it was all worth it at the end! I loved being able to meet Levy and see how happy he was at the assembly."

This year’s new Pickleball Tournament was the most successful event, drawing 20 teams. Other highlights included a successful Culver's Share Night, and an outing to Skate City. Students also represented the school on 9 News' Make a Wish Monday segment. (link to video clip here)

This year’s fundraising is particularly significant as the $9,000 raised so far has come entirely from in-house efforts and community support, without a donor match. The $10,000 goal is crucial to ensure the school can host another in-person "wish kid" at next year’s assembly.

Levy had his liver transplant and his wish is to meet the creator of his favorite video game Roblox (David Baszuki). If you would like to contribute to Levy’s Make-a-Wish, it’s not too late.

Westy Freshman Rylie C. added, "Being able to help grant wishes to kids with critical illness helps me and my family be able to give back to the community."
