Student Spotlight | Sandra Lopez

Senior | Westminster Virtual Academy (WVA)

Meet Sandra Lopez, a resilient and inspiring senior from Westminster Virtual Academy. Originally from Honduras, Sandra arrived in the U.S. just a few years ago and has faced more than her fair share of challenges. From housing instability to personal struggles, Sandra has never stopped striving for a better future.

With support from WPS, Sandra found a safe and empowering learning environment at WVA and HLSS, where she could focus on her education at her own pace. Her hard work has paid off — she graduated this past February and has already been accepted into three colleges: Red Rocks Community College, Metropolitan State University, and Community College of Denver. Sandra is determined to continue breaking barriers and becoming a role model for others in similar circumstances.

Sandra Lopez is a shining example of courage, perseverance, and the power of education. We’re so proud of her journey and can’t wait to see what she does next. Congratulations, Sandra!
