Office Depot Names Mesa Elementary an Imagine Success School

OFFICE DEPOT NAMES MESA ELEMENTARY AN IMAGINE SUCCESS SCHOOL

Pens, highlighters, notepads, markers...the list of school and classroom supplies seems never-ending.

Office Depot Office Max at 92nd and Sheridan is no stranger to school supplies and to helping students, families and teachers reach their full potential. That’s why they chose Mesa Elementary as the winner of their newly launched Imagine Success School award. Started in 2023, the Imagine Success Platform aims to help local communities “capture and share” their journeys toward making success.

According to Office Depot General Manager Jesus Chavez, Imagine Success is all about “Empowering our customers, their families, and their children to find success. We want to be a partner in our community and have a direct tie to our neighbors.”

As an incentive for being named as an Imagine Success School, Mesa Elementary teachers were able to go on a fun shopping spree where they could fill up their baskets with materials and supplies that will help their classrooms achieve academic excellence. A brand new PE teacher chose a speaker system to make exercise more fun when set to music.  Another teacher grabbed stickers and cool pens that will go in their classroom treasure chest. The ability to incentivize good behavior and strong academic practices has no limits.

“It’s a dream come true,” said Mesa Principal Janelle Stastny. “It’s being a part of a hometown community. We are just a couple of blocks away from Office Depot. It was a real honor that they looked us up and chose us over all the other Title One schools.”

Stastny makes it clear that Mesa students are not lacking in school supplies. The school and the district outfit all its students and families with abundant backpacks and materials to ensure that all students thrive. However, there are always those hard-to-find and unique school supplies that keep the students inspired. This award means Mesa teachers can find those niche items without having to pay for them out of their own pockets.

The award was raised by employees and customers at the 92nd and Sheridan Office Depot over the last several months through a Give-Back-to-School program. The store's goal was $50 per day raised for Mesa Elementary. Staff and students at Mesa were thrilled to receive the award that totaled $1,558.58.

Congratulations to Mesa Elementary and thanks to our partners at the 92nd and Sheridan Office Depot.
