Harris Park Elementary was one of just four schools selected by the dance group “Celebrate the Beat” to be profiled on PBS showing the “transformative power of dance.”

The episode will air on Sunday, January 2 at 6:30 a.m. on KRMA-TV and be repeated on Sunday, January 30, also at 6:30 a.m.

“Celebrate the Beat” was created in 2004 as an independent non-profit and works with more than 3500 children annually focused on the organizer's vision to contribute to healthier whole child culture. CTB has now offered classes in several WPS schools.

Harris Park Principal Nancy Richey is featured prominently on the CTB website speaking to the values of the program:

“Thank you for bringing dance to our school and helping us find ourselves, our love, our joy, our positivity, and our expression. And simultaneously helping us lose our fears, inhibitions, worries, and stress.”
