🚗 Student Arrival & Dismissal

At International School at Harris Park, the safety of our students is our highest priority. Our arrival and dismissal procedures are designed to keep traffic moving efficiently while ensuring every child arrives and departs safely.

Please review the information below and refer to the Student & Family Handbook for complete arrival and dismissal procedures.

💙 Hug 'n' Go

Whenever possible, we encourage families to use our Hug 'n' Go system.

After a quick hug and goodbye, students independently enter the building where staff members are ready to greet them and help them begin their day.

Learning to enter school independently helps students develop confidence, responsibility, leadership, and ownership of their school community.

Please remain in your vehicle unless you are parking and walking your child to the designated arrival area.

 

🚗 Kindergarten–Grade 6 Arrival

Front Parking Lot (75th Avenue)

• Enter from 75th Avenue.
• Follow the one-way traffic pattern.
• Stay in the right Hug 'n' Go lane.
• Pull forward to the farthest available staff member.
• Students should exit from the passenger side only.
• Please remain in your vehicle while staff assist students.
• After drop-off, merge into the drive-through lane and exit safely.

Back Entrance (74th Avenue)

Families may also use the back entrance.

• Pull forward as far as possible.
• Do not block the bus lane.
• Students should exit promptly and enter the building with staff supervision.

 

🏫 Preschool Arrival & Dismissal

Preschool families should:

• Park in the back parking lot off 74th Avenue.
• Walk students to the Preschool entrance.
• Sign students in and out each day.
• Have photo identification available if requested.

 

📱 Driveline Dismissal

International School at Harris Park uses Driveline to provide a safe and efficient dismissal.

Every family receives a unique Driveline number.

During dismissal:

• Display your Driveline number before entering campus.
• Keep it clearly visible for staff.
• Only authorized adults listed in Infinite Campus may pick up students.

Driveline helps us safely reunite students with families while minimizing wait times.

 

🚶 Walking to School

Families who park and walk should:

• Use designated sidewalks and crosswalks.
• Park only in legal parking spaces.
• Never walk across active drop-off or pick-up lanes.
• Walk students to the designated Hug Zone before saying goodbye.

 

🚲 Bicycles & Scooters

Students are welcome to ride bicycles and scooters to school.

For safety:

• Walk all wheeled devices while on school property.
• Lock bicycles and scooters in the bike cage.
• Wear helmets and follow traffic laws.
• Do not ride on sidewalks, playgrounds, or parking lots during arrival or dismissal.

Please help us keep every student safe by:

• Driving slowly in school zones.
• Following staff directions.
• Stopping for crossing guards.
• Remaining in your vehicle in Hug 'n' Go.
• Never parking in traffic lanes or bus areas.
• Using sidewalks and designated crosswalks.
• Showing kindness and patience to other families and staff.

Please note:

• Students may not arrive before school supervision begins.
• No animals are permitted on school property.
• The playground is closed before and after school during arrival and dismissal.
